Great news for motorhome owners! A dedicated overnight parking site for self-contained motorhomes is set to open in Cleethorpes on March 31, 2025, just in time for the summer season.

The Thrunscoe Land Motorhome Parking site will allow motorhomes to park for up to 48 hours at a cost of £12 per 24 hours. This is a welcome move, as overnight motorhome parking is currently prohibited in all North East Lincolnshire Council car parks.

With just 10 designated spaces, the trial site—located near Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway—will operate on a pay-by-phone app system, as ticket machines will not be available. Facilities include an Elsan disposal point for chemical toilet emptying and fresh water access, making it a great stop for those exploring the area.

As motorhome travel continues to boom in the UK, initiatives like this are vital to ensure towns remain motorhome-friendly while benefiting from increased tourism. Could this be a sign of more motorhome-friendly parking across the UK?

🚐 The Van Club supports initiatives like these that make motorhome travel more accessible and enjoyable. With more councils exploring dedicated overnight parking, we hope to see a wider network of stopovers for motorhome owners across the UK.
